Discuss and consider approval for a Spay/Neuter grant application and giving authorization for the Shelter Director to sign the application.
Background

The Animal Friendly grant is available through DSHS with money available for free spay/neuter of owned animals. It is important to offer these services to potentially decrease the number of animals entering the shelter. We are applying for funds to spay/neuter 288 cats and 120 dogs over 45 pounds over one year. The cats would be neutered in clinics at the shelter and the dogs will be neutered at participating Veterinary offices for a agreed fee through a voucher system. This is not a matching grant and county funds will not be used to accomplish these goals.
