Discuss and take appropriate action on operations, maintenance, and restoration of the 18-hole Disc Golf Course at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park.

Background

The Disc Golf Course was placed in service in 2006. The course serves more than 7000 users annually. Park staff members are trying to manage the persistent, ongoing effects of drought on natural resources in the park. Concentrated park visitor use, thin soils, compaction, and lack of sufficient rainfall are compounding the stress and harmful effects of drought on natural resources. These conditions are adversely affecting operations and maintenance of the disc golf course. The Parks Director, in consultation with the County Facilities Landscape Specialist, will further assess course conditions, and will determine the timeframe necessary for course restoration.
