To discuss and consider approving the authorization to exceed the current budgeted salary of one full-time position, without exceeding total salary line item for the department.

Background

The current Chief Deputy is retiring with four weeks of vacation due him. The new Chief Deputy is needed immediately with a two week overlap with the retiring Chief Deputy causing the amount budgeted for this particular position to be overspent. However, there is enough money in the line item due to turnover within the office.
