Discuss and take appropriate action on appointments to the Williamson County Conservation Foundation (WCCF) Adaptive Management Committee.

Background

The Adaptive Management Committee is a directive of the Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) for WCCF. It is established to review the progress of the HCP in meeting the goals and objectives of the plan, identifying areas of uncertainty and questions that need to be addressed, developing alternative management strategies and determining which experimental strategies to implement, integrating a monitoring program that is able to acquire the necessary information for effective strategy evaluation, and incorporating feedback loops that link implementation and monitoring to the decision-making process that result in appropriate changes in management. (Reference: Williamson County HCP Section 8-3) In its last board meeting the WCCF approved the following members of the adaptive management committee: Andy Glusenkamp, Texas Parks and Wildlife; Cal Newnam, Texas Department of Transportation; Dr. Ben Pierce, Southwestern University; Kathy McCormack, Austin Audubon; and Larry Quick, representing the WCCF. All have agreed to serve.
