Discuss and consider approving medical waste service agreement with Stericycle, Inc. for EMS.

Background

This agreement will allow for the collection, transportation, treatment and proper disposal of all regualted medical waste generated by WCEMS. WCEMS collection sites will be located at EMS stations in (1) Cedar Park, (2) Round Rock and (3) Taylor. Accepted regulated medical waste for EMS includes for example needles, syringes, broken glass ampules, vials, tubes and rigid plastic. The agreements are attached with addendums as approved by Hal Hawes with corresponding emails attached below.

Our legal has approved it. Please sign the first page of each of the service agreements on the customer line. Initial the top right corner of our terms pages and sign the addendums for each location. Once that is done I will sign on my end and we can start doing pickups. Thanks

I can’t remember if they were that difficult before or not. We have that policy so that we can be sure the other party is willing to be bound by the terms of the agreement that is actually presented to court. If they sign it first, it allows our court to consider it only one time and approve it. If they sign second, they may request changes to the agreement when our signed copy is sent to them for signature. That would then make us go back to court a second time on the same agreement.

With that being said, Peggy and Wendy really make the call on whether it is ok to put it on without the other party’s signature. If you feel confident that we have a final version of the agreement (that Stericylce will not ask for changes after we consider and sign it), call Peggy and/or Wendy and let her/them know everything.
