Discuss and take possible action on naming the new Round Rock annex as the J.B. & Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex.

Background

With the groundbreaking for the new annex in Round Rock coming up on April 23rd, it is important that we name the new annex. Currently, it is being called the new Round Rock annex, but given that we are keeping the current Round Rock annex in use, this has caused confusion already.

Therefore, Commissioner Birkman would like to call the building the J.B. & Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex.

Chris Dyer and his staff have done some research at the Library in Round Rock. (Attachment 1)

The Jester’s have a long history in the Round Rock Area. The property was owned by Joseph Bailey Jester and his wife Hallie Bradley Jester and has been in the family since the late 1800’s until Williamson County purchased the land. (Attachment 2)
