Agenda Item
Discuss and consider approving line item transfers for Elections:
Background
In March ’07 the Elections Department purchased the software for the Election Data Manager, Ballot Image Manager, Ballot on Demand with Printer, iVotronic Image Manager, and Hardware Programming Manager. The software allows the department to program the ballots used with the optical scan machines (650s) and M100s and the hardware used with the electronic voting equipment (excluding audio). The Ballot on Demand w/Printer enables us to print ballots in limited number. It is also the upgrade for the elections tabulation reporting system. The Warranty Period was for 1 year. There are not adequate funds available in the line to purchase the Software Maintenance Agreement for these five products ($20,500.00).

Additional funds are needed in Election Supplies. With the high turnout associated with the Primary Election, additional monies were expended for forms and various materials. Additional signs were needed. Extra supplies have had to be ordered in connection with ballot by mail. There are not enough funds in Election Supplies to last through this budget year.
