Discuss and take appropriate action regarding the appointment of Timothy A. Hunsberger to the Emergency Service District Number Two Board with his term to begin effective immediately and to expire on December 31, 2015.

Background

Mr. Hunsberger is a senior business manager with extensive experience including commercial and federal systems leadership, DOD space systems project management, command and control, strategy formulation and operations support. He has expertise in international aircraft, ship, weapons sales, including air anti-surface and submarine operations. Mr. Hunsberger is a qualified training professional in planning and operations, including pilot training and plan execution.

Commissioner Birkman has known Timothy for over 20 years, he attends St. Philips United Methodist Church and has been a resident in the Cat Hollow neighborhood since 1993. He is a registered voter in Williamson County, has been actively involved in the community on many levels, he is the Regional Vice President for Legislative Affairs for the United States Navy League and is a Certified Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church. Mr. Hunsberger has attended a board meeting, visited with board members and read over information regarding what is expected of him as board member. He does not have any relatives that are employed by the ESD and/or the Fire Department that serves ESD Number 2.

Commissioner Birkman and Judge Gattis have both met with Timothy A. Hunsberger and both are recommending the appointment of Mr. Hunsberger. He will be replacing Virgil Finley whose term expired on December 31, 2013. This appointment would be for a two year term, effective immediately and to expire on December 31, 2015.
