Consider approving Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $80,283.40 for Ronald Reagan Blvd. North Phase IV, a Road Bond Project in Precinct Three.

Background

This Change Order adds driveways to the Yearwood property to restore access to the existing ranch road that was severed by the Reagan ROW acquisition that services the additional businesses on the property. Work items included are the asphalt driveway from the roadway to the right of way line, flex base to tie the driveway into the existing road, guardrail and cattleguards. The driveways are located as far from the quarry as possible and required the addition of guardrail to protect traffic from steep slopes and drop-offs. These driveways were not included by the design engineer in the original PS&E.

This Change Order also documents revisions to the steel encasement pipe sleeves being installed for the Chisholm Trail Special Utility District waterline and property owner sleeves. The Contractor requested to use a thinner wall steel encasement which was approved by CTSUD’s design engineer and is a credit to the project. Steel encasement crossings were added for the Irvine and Austin White Lime properties as part of the right-of-way acquisition requirements of the properties.
