Discuss and take appropriate action on extending Williamson County Bid 12IFB00022 Culverts-Corrugated Metal for Williamson County for the same pricing, terms and conditions as the existing contract for the contract period beginning April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014.

Background

It is the recommendation of the Road and Bridge Department to extend this contract with the existing vendors for the contract period for the following items:
Wilson Culverts – primary on item 1.1-2.22; 3.1-3.9; 4.4-4.24
Contech Engineered Solution- Primary on Items 2.23 – 2.30; 4.25-4.30; Secondary on Items 1.1 – 2.22; 3.1 – 3.9; 4.4-4.24.
The department is satisfied with the goods and services the incumbent vendors are providing. The statistics indicate that prices are higher now than in April 2012 when we received the bids last year. Re-bidding at this time may likely result in higher prices. It is expected that prices decrease for a short period in the second quarter of 2013, however charts are indicating that they will increase again in the third and fourth quarter beyond the bid price.
