Consider approving Change Order No. 1 in the amount of ($3,673.43) for SH 29 Intersection Improvements at Park Place and Jack Nicklaus, a Road Bond Project in Precinct Three.

Background

This Change Order will add contract quantities for additional work by the Contractor to modify the grade of the ditch to create positive drainage from the outfall of the proposed Culverts 1 and 2 at Park Place to the existing SH 29 cross culvert east of Park Place. An accumulation of silt over the years has created a blockage in this drainage flowline. The work will include reshaping, adding topsoil, and reseeding the ditch from the proposed culverts outfall to the cross culvert so the proposed pipes at Park Place will not hold water.

This Change Order also reduces the Contract quantities of proposed 10-inch waterline and trench excavation. Once the existing waterline was exposed, a portion of the waterline was determined to have the required cover over it and did not require adjustment. CTSUD and their engineer reviewed the grades from the potholes and determined the length of the existing pipe that could remain in place.

This Change Order is a cost savings in the amount of ($3,673.43) and does not add or deduct any days to the Contract time.
