Discuss and take appropriate action to convert and restructure a vacant position within the County Parks Department.

Background

This request is to convert and restructure the vacant Assistant Park Director position (Group 30; step 1) into a Program Manager position at the same Group and step (Group 30; step 1) This request falls within the existing FY 12 operational budget and does not require any additional funding from the County. This action will allow the department to advertise a much needed position that will focus on park construction and maintenance projects, league play, resource management, special events, and volunteer coordination, which will help leverage volunteer labor against increased staffing needs.
