Discuss and consider approving a change in grade and steps regarding two FTE slots in the Juvenile Services Department

Background

The employee in the supervisor slot is requesting a voluntary demotion back into a Juvenile Probation Officer position. The Step selected for replacing the supervisor (25.03) will keep the supervisor salary equitable with current court and field supervisors. The employee has been employed with the department for 10 years and was successful as a Juvenile Probation Officer. The employee is valued for his many years of experience and knowledge as an officer with the department. Position "B" is currently a vacant Juvenile Probation Officer I slot.
