Discuss and consider approving a resolution to submit a general victim assistance direct services program grant application for funding to the criminal justice division of the governor's office for a victims' assistant for the district attorneys office.
Background

Funding for personnel to continue to assist victims in their emotional, physical and safety needs prior to, during and after prosecution of their offenders are needed.  As felony offenses continue on the rise, so are the needs of the victims in these offenses requiring assistance during the criminal justice process.
