Discuss and consider approving Change Order No. 4 in the amount of $245,605.44 for US 79 Section 3, a Pass Through Financing project in Precinct Four.

Background

This change order compensates the contractor for safety end treatments which were not quantified in the bid items, not included in the original design, or were specified in the original design at the wrong size.

Additional change orders are under negotiation with the construction contractor and include (1) a reduction in contract cost for a reduced amount of concrete traffic barrier to be installed on the project and (2) a reduction in contract cost due to a change in the final asphalt surface course to PFC (the permeable surface that reduces spray and increases visibility during wet weather conditions), as preferred by TxDOT. The construction cost of the project is still within the overall project budget.
