Hear update on the Quarry Splash Pad; discuss and take appropriate action on daily use fee, and pavilion reservation fee for the Quarry Splash Pad area in the Southwest Regional Park.

Background

It was anticipated that we would charge a daily use fee for the Quarry Splash Pad area in the Southwest Regional Park. This fee structure will help recover operating costs such as chemicals, water, cleaning, staff monitoring time, landscaping and maintenance, litter collection, etc. The recommended fee for the water play is $1.00 per person for all users of the splash pad area. That area would be defined as any area within the splash pad not to include the large pavilions or parking lot. It may be that an annual pass or a “credit card pass” with a specified number of admissions may be available in the future.
It is also recommended that the large pavilion reservation fees be $35 for ½ day; $60 for a full day per side. Both sides may be rented for $120 per day. These are the same pavilion fees that are in use for Champion Park.
