Consider an order declaring an emergency and a grave necessity due to unforeseeable circumstances and approve a budget amendment to acknowledge additional expenditures for Indigent Healthcare:

Background

Medical expenditures for WilCo Care in the current fiscal year greatly exceed projections. During the first five months of the state fiscal year 2010, $3,192,074.00 was paid for medical services, 3.6% of the General Revenue Tax levy (GRTL). At this rate, expenditures could, for the first time, reach or exceed the 8% GRTL. This budget amendment anticipates what will be needed for the remainder of this fiscal year. Further information will be forwarded to each of you prior to Commissioners' Court.
