On May 12th, 2009 Williamson County signed a Letter of Commitment with the Railroad Commission of Texas to participate in in DOE NETL Solicitation Funding Opportunity Title: Clean Cities FY09 Petroleum Reduction Technologies Projects for the Transportation Sector. FOA#: DE-PS26-09NTO1236-04. This grant funding is to offset the incremental cost to implement propane-powered vehicles. In addition, by participating as a sub recipient in the grant, the Railroad Commission has agreed to provide for an infrastructure fueling site at the newly constructed Round Rock Annex.
The total amount of the grant funding is not to exceed $208,420 on a cost reimbursement basis. The funding includes $139,170 for retrofitting vehicles to propane and $69,250 for the infrastructure station. Grantee shall purchase station components and materials in accordance with all federal, state and local laws concerning purchase of goods and services.
