Williamson County at this time does not have an agency dedicated to providing child safety seat inspection and education to its constituents. The State does have programs in place to provide this education to residents, but the resources and event dates are limited. We have partnered with Texans In Motion, Kids in Safety Seats Project, in order to facilitate a child safety seat education and safety program for the residents of Willimamson County. This provided the opportunity to apply for an Injury Prevntion Award which was given to assist in this endeavor. The funds from this award will be used for the purchase of child safety seats to be distributed at education events held in Williamson County for our constituents. Having seats available for distribution will in the event a seat is found to have been recalled, is boken, damaged, or the child has outgrown their current seat, allow the child to leave safer than they arrived. |
