Discuss and approve the funding contract between Williamson County
and Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS).

Background

Williamson County has been a part of the Capital Area Rural Transportation System for a number of years. CARTS services the counties of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays and the non-urbanized areas of Williamson and Travis.

All of you should have received a large packet of information on CARTS through inner office mail. Additionally, we have attached the latest Williamson County Transit Study, completed by CARTS in 2003. The current ride schedule has been attached also.

Currently, the county has allocated $20,000 in the budget for a contribution to CARTS. The contract, which is attached, would provide for continuation of current services for this fiscal year.
