Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on terminating the Public Information Act Requests Policy, which was adopted on October 5, 2004, and designate the Williamson County Attorney’s Office as the office for managing and processing public information requests of both the Williamson County Commissioners Court and all reporting departments of the Williamson County Commissioners Court unless otherwise directed by the Williamson County Commissioners Court.

Background

A Public Information Act Requests Policy was adopted by the Commissioners Court on October 5, 2004, and that action moved responsibility for responding to Public Information Requests from the County Attorney's Office to the Public Information Office for requests received by the Commissioners Court and all reporting departments of the Commissioners Court. With the approval and adoption of the 2014/2015 Budget, a position was approved that now enables the County Attorney's Office to resume handling these requests.
