Commissioner Birkman abstained in regards to payment of invoices for The Gabriels Funeral Chapel (Conflict of Interest Affidavit attached).

36. Comments from Commissioners.
 

Commissioner Long commended the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) for their efforts regarding the construction of the light signal at the intersection of 183A and Hero Way which should be completed in four (4) weeks.

Commissioner Covey said that movement was made by Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) regarding the State Highway (SH) 45 South project.  She also noted that Interstate Highway (IH) 35 around the Lakeway Overpass will be shut down from Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014.  In addition she stated that the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will host a meeting regarding IH 35 at the Georgetown High School Cafeteria on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Judge Gattis expressed his thanks to everyone involved in emergency services for the great job that they do.
