Discuss and consider authorization of revised agreement with Election Systems & Software, LLC, for Post Warranty Hardware and Software Maintenance and Support Services. Take any necessary action, including but not limited to, on-going grant of exemption from competitive bid/proposal requirements pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 262.024(7) for sole source based on patents, copyrights or secret processes.

Background

Election Systems & Software, LLC, is the vendor for the County's electronic voting equipment and tabulation system. With the implementation of Vote Centers, the M100 precinct ballot scanners were no longer needed at the polling locations and we requested they be removed from the maintenance and support service agreement. This will save the County in excess of $26,000.00 per fiscal year. Removing the equipment prompted a new agreement for hardware and software maintenance and support services. The revised agreement streamlines the invoicing process as well as conforms the payment schedule to the County's fiscal year.
