Background

The Benefit Committee reviewed and approved the policy amendment submitted as drafted by Shannon Francis at the November 20, 2013 Benefit Committee Meeting. The revised Tobacco-Free Work Place Policy for all Williamson County employees will include Electronic Nicotine delivery systems (ENDS). Williamson County recognizes that E-Cigarrettes produce a vapor of undetermined and potentially harmful substances, which may appear similar to the smoke emitted by traditional tobacco products. The addition of Electronic Nicotine delivery systems to the Tobacco Free Work Place Policy will now apply to their use in workplaces and public places where smoking of traditional tobacco products is also prohibited.
