Discuss and take appropriate action regarding employment of the law firm of Tiemann, Shahady & Hamala, P.C. to represent Williamson County in relation to Williamson County Floodplain matters; and exemption of those attorney services from the competitive bid/proposal requirements of the County Purchasing Act pursuant to the discretionary exemption for personnel or professional services.

Background

This Agreement contemplates providing legal advice and assisting with statutory and regulatory requirements relating to Williamson County floodplain matters. Such legal services in relation to Williamson County floodplain matters shall include assisting County officials and employees, attending meetings as required, negotiating, drafting, and reviewing documents, and performing other tasks as directed by the Williamson County Commissioners Court and Williamson County’s Senior Director of Infrastructure.

Bob Daigh will present the item and will answer any questions the court may have.
