Consider authorizing Commissioner Covey to execute a letter to the City of Georgetown requesting an extension of the Shell Road PID assessment lien for two years for Campbell-Georgetown, Ltd tract.

Background

Georgetown created a Public Improvement district 7 years ago to repay the County for cost to relocate Shell road across from the HEB. The PID placed assessment liens, with 7 % interest, on all properties benefitting from the relocation. All properties except the Campbell tract have sold and paid off their liens. According to the PID, the assessments are due when the property is sold, platted or at the end of 7 years. The Campbell tract has requested a 2 year extension, acknowledging that the 7% interest meter continues to run. The City of Georgetown has approved the 2 year extension.
