Comments from Commissioners. |
| |
Commissioner Covey noted that there was a special event last weekend at the Heritage Center combining Williamson County leadership and the Cities of Williamson County with the Adopt the Troop Program (the Combat Aviation Brigade from Ft Hood). She noted that County Employees will be able to get involved in this program via drop off boxes to donate needed items for the soldiers.
Judge Gattis mentioned that there will also be activities planned for the soldier's families while they are away.
Commissioner Birkman thanked Governor Perry for appointing her and Stan Ray to a state-wide board, the Texas Agricultural Financing Authority Board which is for economical development in rural areas.
Commissioner Morrison complimented Commissioner Covey for her efforts in putting together the Adopt The Troops event over the weekend.
Judge Gattis noted that there will be a position requested on the Agenda next week for a receptionist in the Courthouse lobby for security purposes and public information. |
