Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the closeout of the Frequency Reconfiguration Agreement between incumbent Williamson County, Texas and Nextel of Texas, Inc.
Background
The original Frequency Reconfiguration Agreement was signed the 25th of September 2008; with subsequent amendments to the agreement signed as of the 9th of April 2010; 23rd of March 2011 . This agreement outlined the work to be encumbered, related to rebanding. The agreement was brought upon by a FCC mandate for which all public safety 800MHz frequency users in radios systems must move to consolidated blocks within the frequency spectrum to reduce interference in the 800MHz band with commercial industry. At the time Sprint Nextel now referred to as Nextel of Texas agreed to bear all costs associated with the multiple phases of rebanding in order to meet the FCC mandate moving public safety to new bands. The County's network equipment and end users have all been successfully migrated, the noted frequencies have been released and removed from County FCC licensing, and all true of time, equipment and services have been completed in accordance with the Frequency Reconfiguration Agreement.
