Discuss and take appropriate action on approving a $2 E-Filing fee per House Bill 2302.
Background
House Bill 2302 authorizes a county that uses an electronic filing system to begin charging a $2 fee on January 1, 2014, for each electronic filing transaction. The transaction fee is to recover costs associated with interfacing and directly maintaining the e-filing system. Commissioner’s Court is to annually approve the fee to recover electronic filing operating costs incurred by the county.
