Consider appointing Mr. Edward L. Hanna to the Emergency Service District #9 Board effectively immediately to fulfill a vacant unexpired term ending on Dec. 31, 2012 and also an additional two year term to begin on Jan. 1, 2013 and end on Dec. 31, 2014.

Background

E.S.D. Board #9 currently has 3 commissioners. This appointment would help to insure that the board will have a quorum present to conduct business until the end of the year. The term would begin effective immediately and expire on Dec. 31, 2012. Also, at the same time we would recommend another two year term to begin on Jan. 1, 2013 and end on Dec. 31, 2014.

Mr. Edward Hanna has attended several meetings of the ESD #9 Board and comes highly recommended by the other current commissioners serving on the board. Judge Dan Gattis has interviewed Mr. Hanna as well as Commissioner Birkman and they are making the recommendation to appoint Mr. Hanna. This ESD Board covers areas of Pct. 1 and Pct. 3 and Commissioner Covey is also recommending Mr. Hanna's appointment.
