Discuss and take appropriate action on a request to allocate the property between the back of the Animal Shelter and the Parking Lot of the Emergency Communications Center for the construction and installment of the Williamson County Animal Shelter Dog Run, Trail and Memorial Park.

Background

This project has been discussed for a couple of years and has been placed in the facilities master plan. It is for use by the shelter employees, visitors, and volunteers to allow the dogs an oppurtunity to get out of the shelter for exercise and to provide a safe place for visitors wishing to adopt a shelter dog to spend time with the dog prior to adoption. The project will be paid for though donations and will be built as the money is raised. To date about $19,000 has been raised for the project and we have commitments from two scout troops to assist in the project.
