Discuss and take appropriate action on "Amendment No. 2 to Techshare Resource Sharing Addendum, Common Integrated Justice System (CIJS) Court Administration System."

Background

In 2006, the Commissioners Court approved the County's participation in the Common Integrated Justice System Court Administration System (Odyssey) project through the CUC Techshare program. In order to continue to participate in that program, and receive the benefits of that program, we need to extend the effective date of our agreement for each fiscal year. This addendum does just that. It extends the date from 9/30/2009 to 9/30/2010. It also specifies the anticipated payments to the CUC for this program (all amounts are per the original agreement and have already been included in the budget).

More importantly this year, since we recently modified the agreement with Tyler Technologies which would give the County approximately $50,000 in rebates, we need to extend our membership in order to receive those rebates.

As a side note, the Odyssey project recently went live on phase 2 (Criminal Courts) last week (December 7). The project continues to be on time and on budget. Phase 3, the final phase, will kick off in early 2010 and will include the JP Courts.
