Subject: Public Power Pool Representatives & Technical Committee
Importance: High
TO: Public Power Pool Representatives, Technical Committee & Issues Contacts
**Please Note- If you have provided designations after receiving this email in the past, you are receiving it again due to the receipt of only one position designation. P3 will need a confirmation of the designations for both positions. You may fill out the attached forms, or simply provide email correspondence designating both the Member Representative and also the Technical Committee member.**
We understand that office structure can change, and positions may not always stay the same. In an effort to keep our records updated, we would like to take this opportunity to ask the membership to re-designate their P3 Representative & P3 Technical Committee representative.
What is the P3 Member Representative?
The P3 Representative is the official representative of a political subdivision to P3. P3 requires the governing body of a member to appoint a Representative. That Representative may attend P3 meetings and vote on changes to P3 Bylaws, and any other matter the P3 Board of Directors puts to the membership. Most counties have appointed a member of the Commissioners Court as their P3 Representative.
What is the Technical Advisory Committee member?
The P3 Technical Advisory Committee representative is the person P3 will work with on a detailed technical basis. The technical advisory committee representative is designated by the P3 member representative. P3 policy requires advance notification and consultation with all Technical Advisory Committee members before any significant decision is made related to power procurement for P3 members. The Technical Advisory Committee member will be P3's contact for obtaining the necessary data to build the historical load profile, and for contract negotiations and implementation. Most member counties are designating their energy manager, or facilities manager as Technical Committee representative.
