Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the approval and acceptance of FY15 Homeland Security Grant funds in the amount of $29,695. The project is for the purchase of a Mercury Analyzer and Support Equipment, to include a Mercury Recovery Vacuum for the Hazardous Materials Response Team.

Background

Equipment to accurately identify mercury levels and to remove mercury contaminants was identified as a capability gap during a response to mercury contamination. This will provide the Williamson County HazMat Team the ability to detect Mercury and analyze mercury levels needed to ensure a safe work environment for responders and concentration levels needed to aid medical providers with treatment protocols. Vacuum equipment will allow for the safe removal of contaminates.
