Information
Agenda Item
Discuss and take appropriate action on renewal of Memorandum of Agreement with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for vehicle idling limitations.
Background
The current MOA between the County and TCEQ expires 12/31/2013. This MOA provides the County with the right to enforce vehicle idling limitations and provide rules for limiting idling of heavy-duty motor vehicles within the county's jurisdiction. Adoption of this MOA is a part of the county's participation in the region's efforts to maintain attainment of the eight-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (the Ozone Advance Program).

In conjunction with the Sheriff's Office rules for implementing this MOA will be developed and, as necessary, such rules will come to the Commissioners Court for adoption under an enforcement resolution to be submitted to TCEQ.

A copy of TCEQ's cover letter on this MOA and the MOA itself is attached.
