Agenda Item
Discuss and take appropriate action on a Resolution Authorizing Resale of Property being described as a 8,475 square foot tract of land out of Lot 18, Block A, River Hills Section 1, a subdivision in Williamson County, Texas (Tax Account #R099019), and thereby authorizing the sale and conveyance of said property by private sale pursuant to Sections 31.061 and 34.05 of the Texas Tax Code.
Background
Pursuant to the Texas Tax Code, Section 31.061, the County of Williamson, Texas, Trustee, in Trust, for the use and benefit of itself, Georgetown Independent School District and the City of Georgetown, Texas, acquired title to the real property described in the resolution, which is located within the boundaries of the Taxing Units, by virtue of a deed in lieu of foreclosure of the tax lien in 2002 from Walter R. Carrington. The property has been tax exempt since its acquisition in 2002 and the resolution would allow for the sale of said property by private sale pursuant to Sections 31.061 and 34.05 of the Texas Tax Code. This action is being taken in order to place the property back on the tax rolls. Craig Morgan, as counsel for the Williamson County Tax Collector-Assessor, prepared the resolution and will handle the disposition of the property. The resolution authorizes Judge Gattis to execute any deed necessary to convey the property.
