Discuss and consider granting the Williamson County Facilities Director with authority to approve and execute change orders not to exceed $15,000 on the Williamson County Tax Office construction and renovation project located on South Main Street, Georgetown, Texas provided the Williamson County Facilities Director reports his approval and execution of each change order to Judge Dan Gattis by providing a copy of same for inclusion each month on the Williamson County Commissioners Court Agenda under a standing item “Report on Williamson County Tax Office Construction and Renovation Project.” (As authorized by Section 262.031 of the Texas Local Government Code)
Background
The Bid Specifications contain an owner’s allowance/contingency of $50,000. This will allow the Williamson County Facilities Director to sign change orders up to $15,000 each and it will prevent project delays. The sum total of all allowed change orders that the Williamson County Facilities Director would be authorized to approve and execute without first obtaining the Court’s consent would be limited to the total amount of the owner’s allowance/contingency of $50,000.
