Agenda Item
Consider approving Change Order Number 15 in the amount of $676,011.22 for Williams Drive, a Road Bond Project in Precinct 3.
Background
At the request of the City of Georgetown, this Change Order deletes the strain pole signals originally specified and adds mast arm signal assemblies, adds a fiber optic interconnection between the signals, and adds roadway improvements at the intersection of Williams Drive and DB Wood/Shell Road to the project. The cost of this Change Order will be reimbursed with 80% CAMPO funding and the remaining 20% funded by the City of Georgetown. The City of Georgetown has approved this Change Order in writing.

• The City of Georgetown requested that the strain pole signal system originally planned for the project be deleted and replaced with mast arm signal assemblies at the four major intersections within the project limits. This work includes the intersections of Del Webb Blvd, Woodlake, Wildwood, and DB Wood/Shell Road. The signals at Wildwood were not shown in the original plans and have been added to the mast arm design. Several of the original bid item quantities for the strain pole design were not installed, so the value of those items was credited back to the project. The contractor agreed to extend the quantities on any existing bid items for the change order work. The costs of new bid items were submitted by the contractor, compared to statewide bid averages and accepted by the City of Georgetown.
• The City of Georgetown requested that the antenna/radio signal communication system originally planned for the project be deleted and replaced with a fiber optic interconnection system. The fiber optic interconnection will connect the four intersections on the project to the rest of the Citywide signal communication system. The original bid items for the antenna and radio system were not installed and were credited back to the project as part of the change order. The City of Georgetown has reviewed and accepted the costs submitted by the contractor for this work.
• The City of Georgetown requested that improvements by made at the intersection of Williams Drive and DB Wood/Shell Road in order to match the City’s improvements on DB Wood and Shell Road both north and south of Williams Drive. Some of the original bid item costs were extended for this portion of work, but on some items the contractor submitted new costs. The new costs were negotiated and agreed to by the City of Georgetown. The justification for the new bid prices was due to the small quantities and additional mobilization of crews onto the project for this added work.
