Consider Approving Change Order No. 22 in the amount of $58,327.13 for Pond Springs, a Road Bond Project in Precinct One.

Background

This change order consists of (1) the reconstruction of three redesigned driveways to the McCarty Corporation, (2) drainage curb cut installations at the Pond Springs Business Park, and (3) additional pavement markers at specified driveways.

The McCarty Corporation on west side of Pond Springs (the new elevated side) submitted a complaint that the new replacement driveways accessing the property are too steep and are causing damage to equipment as vehicles enter and leave the property. To provide driveways that the property owner can utilize without damaging his equipment, the contractor will construct redesigned driveways with lower slopes.

The Pond Springs Business Park property manager submitted concerns regarding insufficient drainage to new roadside ditch due to the curb that was constructed to protect vehicles from driving off the parking lot into the ditch. To resolve the issue, drainage curb cuts will be installed along new curb and gutter to help drainage on property reach the roadside ditch.

To enhance the visual separation of specified driveways from the adjacent rip rap, additional raised pavement markers need to be installed to protect the public.
