Discuss and take appropriate action on the resolution in support of the Safe Routes to School Project Grant application by the City of Georgetown concerning Mitchell Elementary School.
Background
The City of Georgetown, in conjunction with the Georgetown Independent School District, is seeking a TxDOT grant through the Safe Routes to School Project. They have already received TxDOT approval of their plans, but now seek grant funding for a sidewalk to connect Churchill Farms to Mitchell Elementary School along SE Inner Loop. Today's discussion is in support of the grant application. If the grant is received, the court will then determine the appropriate route along the inner loop or a more direct route through county property. Please see attached map for preferred route.
