Discuss and take possible action regarding recruitment and appointment of Emergency Services District Commissioners.
Background
Currently, we have quite a few openings on the boards of various ESDs in the county. For example, the list we have compiled is as follows:
ESD #1-Jollyville FD-one opening
ESD #2-Sam Bass FD- at least one opening
ESD #5-Jarrell-at least one opening
ESD #8-Georgetown FD-two to three openings
ESD #9-two openings
It has been difficult to find qualified applicants to serve in some of these positions. The court can discuss how we want to proceed so that we can appoint qualified, committed citizens to fill these important positions.
