Discuss and consider declaring an emergency and approving a budget amendment to acknowledge additional expenditures for 911 Communications.
Background
Williamson County Emergency Communications in conjunction with Round Rock PD Dispatch and Cedar Park PD Dispatch, entered into a joint microwave replacement project in order for the Williamson County region to receive a price break for a combined projects. The intent of this project was to replace antiquated, non-supported microwave links between the centers and the Radio Communications System of Williamson County. After October 1, 2014 the project encountered several delays; e.g. extended time period awaiting a PO from the City of Round Rock, FCC licensing errors on the Cedar Park Dispatch side, to delays in certain equipment items for installation. As of 10-6-15 all three centers have been completely installed and cutover to their new equipment. As of 10-18-15 all three will have met their 30 day burn in time for the equipment installed. On 10-19-15 decommissioning of the old microwave equipment will commence; Barring no troubles or interruptions in the 30 day burn in we anticipate to finalize all project documentation and will be ready for closeout by the end of October.
