Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on an Interlocal Agreement between the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Williamson County, Texas regarding DPS’s provision of two (2) full time equivalents (FTEs) to perform controlled substances, marijuana and blood alcohol analysis of evidence submitted by law enforcement agencies within Williamson County.

Background

This item was originally on the October 7, 2014 agenda and pulled due to questions and requested revisions. Sheriff Wilson, County Attorney Doyle “Dee” Hobbs and Mr. Skylor Hearn of DPS discussed the intent of the agreement and further negotiated the terms of the ILA. The ILA has been revised to provide Williamson County with a right to terminate for cause or for convenience.
