Consider awarding bids received for Bid #13IFB00135 Limestone Rock Asphalt to the lowest and best bidder meeting specifications: Vulcan Materials as primary vendor, JAE Construction as secondary vendor, and Martin Marietta Materials as tertiary vendor.

Background

This contract for Limestone Rock Asphalt is for contract period October 8, 2013 through April 7, 2014.
Road and Bridge recommends awarding the contract in whole, with a primary, secondary and tertiary vendor as follows: Primary vendor: Vulcan Materials; secondary vendor: JAE Construction; and tertiary vendor: Martin Marietta Materials. As the basis for the recommendation, Road and Bridge used all pertinent information to determine the apparent best responsible bidder. The criteria used in the analysis were: price, bidders experience and reputation, and quality of the bidder's goods and/or services.
