Discuss and take appropriate action on a Memorandum of Understanding and Sidewalk Maintenance and Access Agreement between Williamson County and the City of Georgetown relating to a sidewalk to be constructed within the Southeast Inner Loop right-of-way from Belmont Drive in the Churchill Farms Subdivision to Mitchell Elementary School.

Background

The project includes the construction of an eight feet (8’) wide sidewalk along the east side of Southeast Inner Loop from Belmont Drive in the Churchill Farms Subdivision to Mitchell Elementary School funded by a Grant through the Safe Routes To School Program.

The purpose of the MOU is to outline certain understandings by and between the parties to provide for design, funding and construction management and for maintenance of the Project, to provide an easement on County property and to establish future impervious cover considerations resultant from the Project being constructed partially upon County property.

The Sidewalk Maintenance and Access Agreement sets forth the County's grant of the easement for the sidewalk and provides that the City shall be obligated to maintain it.

The City shall be responsible for funding the Project.
