Disuss and consider approving a line item transfer for Information Technology Services
Background
Recently a portion of the County's fiber, which forms our County network, was completely severed. This leaves us extremely vulnerable since we are operating on our wireless backup. In addition to it being a slower link, should anything happen to that back up link, much of our network will be completely disconnected from our primary server room and many county offices, as well as critical county services, will be severely affected. This fiber is located near URS and passes under the road.
