Hear an update and take any appropriate action on the formation of an exploratory committee to investigate the possibility of creating a veteran's court for Williamson County, as permitted by Texas Law in Chapter 617 of the Local Government Code.

Background
At a recent Williamson County Mental Health Task Force meeting, a sub-committee was formed to look into the idea of forming a special docket for one of the criminal courts in the county for veterans, as permitted by Texas Law.

The sub-committee consists of:
Commissioner Lisa Birkman; Commissioner Valerie Covey; Kathy Pierce from Pct. 2; Donna Harrrel, Veterans Service Officer; Leo De La Garza of Bluebonnet Community Services; Robert Maier, a criminal defense attorney; Steve Morrison or designee of Adult Probation, Dee Hobbs or designee of the Williamson County Attorney's Office and Judge Tim Wright. More members may be added later.

A manual about veteran's courts in Texas, distributed by the Texas Association of Counties and the Texas Indigent Defense Commission, is attached.
