Consider approving the Early Voting Schedule and Election Day Polling Locations for the Constitutional Amendment Election, and conducting joint elections with other political jurisdictions on November 8, 2011.
Background
The Early Voting Schedule for November 2011 compared to November 2010 has one change in the full-time locations. The site is being moved from the Sun City Social Center to Cowan Creek Amenity Center, a new facility built in the Sun City Community. Signs will be posted at the Social Center directing voters to the new location. Sun City media personnel will be advising Community residents of the change.
Because of lower turnouts for November Constitutional Amendment Elections compared to elections for President or Governor, early voting was not scheduled for Sunday. This conforms with the 2009 Constitutional Amendment Election.
There are two changes to the Election Day polling locations, Precincts 266 and 361, as described in the attached document.
Request is being made to join in with other political jurisdictions conducting elections on November 8, 2011. Holding a joint election is more convenient for the voters and saves the County money by having other entities share in the cost of conducting the elections.
