To discuss and take appropriate action on the approval of a line item transfer for Road and Bridge

Background

In order to more effectively place road base material while rehabilitating County roadways, Road and Bridge would like to increase our water carrying capacity by two water trucks. With the number of trucks that we currently have, the Texas heat and the distance necessary to travel to collect water, the water used to compact roadway base and sub grade materials is evaporating faster than our crews are able to place for proper compaction. The current constraining variable on roadway production is water. Rather than purchase new vehicles, we propose to convert two existing single axle 6 yard dump trucks (that are infrequently utilized) into water trucks. The installed cost for each conversion is $35,000.
