Discuss and consider re-appointing, Adam Bryant, Mack Sherrod, and Darryl Phillips to ESD Board #1 for two year terms to begin on Jan. 1, 2011 and expire on Dec. 31, 2012.

Background

On Jan. 1, 2009 a portion of ESD #1 was annexed by the City of Austin. In order to comply with the provisions of the Texas Health and Safety Code, Vernon Civil Statutes, § 775.034 the court must appoint 5 board members to an ESD Board. At the time the annexation occurred the board lost 4 of its 5 commissioners. The lone commissioner, Adam Bryant was first appointed on March 8, 2006 and he was re-appointed twice to two terms with the latest being on Jan. 5, 2009 with the term expiring on Dec. 31, 2010. He has been a stable board member and has expressed interested in being re-appointed to the board for another two-year term. On Jan. 5, 2009, Mack Sherrod and Darryl Phillips were also appointed to serve two years to expire on Dec. 31, 2010. Both have also served well on the board and would like to be re-appointed. Their bio’s are attached and we are recommending re-appointing all three of these commissioners to serve two year terms beginning on Jan. 1, 2011 and expiring on Dec. 31, 2012.
